Cape Town – Candice Swanepoel's latest sexy ad campaign has been banned in New York.
The New York Post reports that billboards for the shoe designer Brian Atwood featuring Swanepoel and other scantily clad men and women have been banned in the Big Apple.
The racy ads which include naked men stroking Swanepoel's legs were supposed to be displayed outside the new boutique at 655 Madison Avenue in Manhattan's Midtown.
The ads are running in September magazines however, which kicks off New York's annual new spring fashion season, although one building in New York has already banned the billboard ad.
Candice defends the ad
Swanepoel, one of the world's 10 highest paid international models according to Forbes, has been defending her role in the raunchy billboard campaign.
"I respect that they banned it. Not everybody is comfortable with their sexuality and with showing your body. For me it's not a problem.
"I'm proud of my body. I work hard for my body. As long as it's always done in a tasteful way, which it was," Swanepoel told Sky News.
