Sandra Bullock's ex to wed

Los Angeles - Sandra Bullock's former husband Jesse James is to marry his tattoo artist girlfriend Kat Von D.

James revealed the news of his pending nuptials to People magazine on Thursday.

TV presenter James, 41, said his split from Oscar winner Bullock actually ended in good news for him.

"2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs," he told the magazine.

Of his 28-year-old new wife-to-be, he said: "I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honoured that she said 'Yes.'

"Growing old with her is going to be a ... blast!" he added, using an expletive.

Von D, or Katherine Drachenberg, told the magazine: "There is no one else for me. He's the one."

Asked if she would move from Los Angeles to Texas to be with James, she added: "If only it were that easy. Having two places we call home will be good for now. In the end, home is where the heart is, and my heart's with him."

James's infidelity

Bullock, 46, filed for divorce last April, ending their five-year marriage, after allegations by tattooed stripper Michelle "Bombshell" McGee that she had been involved in an affair with James for several months.

James, who hosts the reality TV show Monster Garage, apologised to his wife and children at the time, and reportedly sought in-patient treatment at a clinic.

Bullock's marriage unraveled just 10 days after she scooped a best actress Oscar last March for her performance in The Blind Side.
