Sexy new Mr Grey gets two thumbs up from Charlie Hunnam

Los Angeles - Charlie Hunnam thinks Jamie Dornan will make a "great" Christian Grey.

The 33-year-old British actor, who dropped out of the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation of the erotic novel, has wished Jamie all the best as he prepares to take on the lead role.

Charlie told TMZ: "I'm sure he'll do a great job. I don't really know his work, but I know Sam, the director, is amazing, and she has fantastic taste, so I'm sure he'll do a great job."

Charlie was originally cast as billionaire Christian, alongside Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, but exited the role in mid-October due to an "immersive TV schedule" with Sons of Anarchy, although sources said he didn't like the attention on the role and the "pressure was intense".

The first film in the trilogy, penned by E.L. James, was due to begin filming within weeks and soon after the announcement, the author tweeted: "I wish Charlie all the best. x"

Charlie's exist was a surprise

Charlie's decision to pull out of the movie came as a surprise to fans as he recently gushed about how excited he was to be cast in the blockbuster alongside 24-year-old Dakota.

Jamie, 31, has spoken about taking on the challenging role and said he never envisioned Christian as a "monster".

He said: "I think it's clear how he conditions himself and looks after himself.

"I take decent enough care of myself anyway, so obviously I'm gonna up slightly with training, but we don't have any intention to really bulk up. I don't think it's appropriate."
