Los Angeles – Shock, horror! Tara Reid will not be returning for the sequel of the surprise hit movie, Sharknado.

The B-grade movie about killer sharks bizarrely caught-up in a tornado devouring people left, right and centre was thought to be Reids big comeback.

But according to TMZ the American Reunion actress did not make the cut.

Tara played Ian Zeiring's estranged wife in Sharknado and it is understood they want him back for the next instalment, Mail Online reported.

Both actors were reportedly paid $50 000 (R500 000) for part one which saw the pair take on sharks from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills.

Producers are currently drawing-up their wish list for the sequel which will materalise in New York.
