Cape Town - Sharlto Copley, star of District 9 and The A-Team, may have ended his long-term relationship with his girlfriend of 13 years for model Tanit Phoenix, reports Heat magazine.
Melinda Shaw, editor in chief of heat magazine, says: "Sharlto's ex, Melanie Haasbroek, returned home in November from LA to be with her ailing father who'd been diagnosed with cancer. Soon afterwards, Sharlto had his first meeting with Tanit, which she was very eager to tweet about."
Shaw says an insider revealed to Heat that when Copley returned home to Cape Town, he and Phoenix met up several times in the house he co-owns with Haasbroek, leaving his then girlfriend alone in Gauteng to deal with her family crisis.
Also revealed is further evidence of tweets from Phoenix, how it was revealed that Copley cut his family holiday short, in all likelihood to be with her, how he ended his relationship with Haasbroek, and whether the actor and the model were willing to comment about their relationship at all.
