Shia LaBeouf sent penis pictures to land Nymphomaniac role

Los Angeles - Shia LaBeouf sent pictures of his penis to land his role in Nymphomaniac.

The actor was forced to send director Lars Von Trier's production team close-up images of his manhood before being deemed suitable for the raunchy flick's numerous sex scenes.

He joked in a video interview by the film's Zentropa Productions: "The first info we got - and I'll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such fear - the first request from the production end, not Lars, was for pictures of my penis."

Shia - who stars opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard in the upcoming risqué drama about a woman's erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 - impressed Lars with his speedy response to the request and believes his fearless attitude landed him the job.

He added: "Lars goes, 'Send him the letter. The letter was, 'Are you game?' I guess the first test was, 'Let's time how long it takes this motherfuckerr to send his dick over the Internet.'"

"It was like 20 minutes; they were like, 'Alright, kid's ready.'"

Shia, 27, even went one step further by sending over no-holds barred videos of him engaged in intimate acts with his girlfriend.

He previously said: "I sent videotapes of me and my girlfriend having sex and that's how I got the job."

Shia previously appeared nude in a music video for Sigur Rós:
