Los Angeles - According to an article published by Mail Online on Tuesday, Nancy Motes - the half-sister of Julia Roberts – “was driven to take her own life by her uncaring family”.
These shocking revelations come after a close friend of Motes told the publication that “Julia and her family are now crying crocodile tears over her tragic death”.
Motes, who suffered from depression, was found in a bathtub on Sunday in what is believed to be a suicide.
The 37-year-old was the daughter of Roberts' mother Betty Lou and stepfather Michael Motes. She was also aunt to American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts.
According to BangShowBiz Nancy had struggled with her weight, and underwent gastric bypass surgery in June 2010, and had said Julia, 46, used to tease her about it.
John Fraschetti, who knows Nancy's grieving fiancé, John Dilbeck, claims the family of the Oscar winner are "now only interested in manipulating public opinion after her suicide, but during her life, drove her to death.”
Mail Online also revealed that Motes apparently tweeted a string of vicious messages aimed at her Oscar winning sister, including "Just so you all know 'America's Sweetheart' is a BITCH!!" on 20 January.
"Do you want to be a fan of someone so cruel? She's not even that good of an actress. Happy you totally Fucked with me?" she added in a subsequent tweet before claiming she'd never been more angry.
These and other tweets were deleted overnight.

According to New York Daily News Motes’ suicide letter also had some shocking allegations.
A source told the publication that a five-page suicide letter was found on the scene by EMT. Three pages are reportedly rantings by Motes claiming that her sister drove her to do this.
There was one page to her mom, telling her how much she loved her, and one page apologising to her fiancé John.
The National Enquirer revealed in May that Julia didn't want to attend her sister's wedding because "she didn't like the groom and didn't want to get stuck paying for the wedding".
Julia has not responded publicly to any of the allegations. She did skip an Academy Awards luncheon in Beverly Hills on Sunday - which she was due to attend to promote August: Osage County - to grieve her loss.
