Simon Cowell confirms his unborn baby is a boy?

London - Simon Cowell has given his strongest indication yet that he and Lauren Silverman are expecting a baby boy.

The X Factor boss also hinted he plans to marry his newly divorced pregnant girlfriend, who already has a seven-year-old son, Adam, with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman, in the near future as he is finally happy.

Asked if he knows the sex of his child, the 53-year-old star told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show on Tuesday: "Yes, it's a human. I do know. Have a guess?"

When Ryan asked if he was having a boy, he said: "That would be a good guess I think. It would be a good guess but we'll see."

Simon predicted he would be a "monster" if he has a daughter and she eventually starts dating but is very excited for the baby to arrive.

He added: "I am happy at the moment actually. It's kind of an unusual feeling. ... Overall, everything is fine. But obviously I had a very traumatic time over the summer.

"I genuinely never thought me being a Dad was going to happen ... Partly because I was scared of who I was going to have kids with...but Lauren and I get along really well and once I got used to the idea I thought, 'I think this is going to be very good.'"

Simon is doing lots of research on parenthood

Simon hopes that his child will be born in London rather than Lauren's hometown, New York.

He said: "Obviously, I would have to make sure the baby has an English accent. I said to Lauren, 'What if I just play me on tape while the baby is sleeping so the baby can hear me and have a British accent and his first words will be, 'You're absolutely useless!'"

The music mogul is doing lots of research on parenthood but he has no desire to watch their baby being born.

He said: "I know this sounds awful, but it's like you don't want to go in to the restaurant while they're making your dinner. I think there are certain things you shouldn't see and that is one of them. I'll be very close by, but no I won't watch."

Simon also suggested he plans to marry Lauren sooner rather than later.

He said: "Let's put it this way, I wouldn't expect her to be a single mother."
