Soapie couple welcomes baby girl

Cape Town - One of South Africa's favourite soapie couples Thami Mngqolo and Jo-Anne Reyneke have welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday, reports Drum.

Thami and Jo-Anne are better known to most loyal soapie viewers as Generations' gay heartthrob Senzo and comedic receptionist Pearl on Muvhango. The pair have decided to name their daughter Lwandile Cayden Uvolwethu Mngqolo.

According to Thami, mother and daughter are  both doing well.

Ready for the new challenge

Thami took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the exciting news:

Shortly after, he posted a picture of mother and daughter to his Instagram account.

Many fans and fellow celebrities joined in to congratulate the pair with the new arrival.

Speaking to Drum magazine in January, the pair said that they were ready for the challenges of parenthood and felt stronger than they have ever felt before in their five year relationship.
