Sofia Vergara felt 'used' by ex-fiancé

Los Angeles - Sofia Vergara allegedly felt Nick Loeb "used" her to boost his own business.

The Modern Family star confirmed she had called off her two-year engagement last weekend, blaming their busy schedules, but she reportedly ended their romance because she thought he was trying to take advantage of her fame.

According Perezhilton.com rumours are swirling that the boxum beauty's swarthy ex-lover wanted to use their marriage as a springboard into his own acting career.

Here's a picture taken of the couple in happier times at a concert in Sydney Australia that was posted on the actress's Whosay account.

Another source told Us Weekly magazine: "It really embarrassed Sofia."

The insider claimed that failed politician Nick, 38, pushed the 41-year-old actress to promote his Onion Crunch company and also begged her to get him a part in her new movie Don't Mess With Texas, alongside Reese Witherspoon.

Another source told the New York Daily News: "He's always trying to use her success to make himself successful. I think she's finally started to see him as the opportunist he really is."

The brunette beauty - who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez - announced their split on her WhoSay profile last weekend, saying: "Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart.

"We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore.

"We are still very close but we believe is the best thing for us right now. (sic)"

Poor Sofia, we're sure that she'll find another hottie soon.
