Strictly Come Dancing SA contestant won't perform after news of mom's death


Johannesburg – Ex-rugby player John Mametsa’s presence will be missed on Strictly Come Dancing this week as he is taking time off to deal with the death of his mother.

The news of his mother’s death broke on Thursday after fellow contestant Khanyi Mbau posted a message of support on Instagram.

She posted this picture with the caption: "To @johnmametsa condolences on the loss of your mother... Praying for you and the family, a time like this cannot be easy. As we dance this week, with out you.... We will miss your strong presence and warm heart my buddy. R.I.P mama John. #QOB"



John responded and thanked Khanyi for her support: "Thank you and good luck for Friday @mbaureloaded and Thank you to all of you for your heart-felt condolences. Truly appreciated."
