Susan Boyle gives up sweets for Lent

Cape Town - Susan Boyle is giving up sweets.

The Britain's Got Talent runner-up has announced that she will give up sweets for charity.

Website digitalspy.com reports Boyle will donate the money saved by refraining from sugary food to the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund's (SCIAF) Wee Box, Big Change project.

Charity spokesman Val Morgan told The Daily Star: "Susan has known about Sciaf's work helping people out of poverty overseas since she was a young girl... This year Susan will be supporting the campaign by giving up sweets and chocolate."

Susan is giving up sweets and chocolate during the 40-day period of Lent.
