Taylor Swift: Men aren't my priority

Los Angeles - Taylor Swift insists you should never make a man your main priority in life.

The We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together hitmaker, who recently split from Conor Kennedy and has previously dated stars including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas, thinks it is important not to neglect friends and family for the sake of a relationship.

In an interview with Twist magazine Taylor said: "My advice about guys has to do with how you prioritise them. They can be a part of your life but never let the guy BE your life. They can live in your world, but never make the guy your world.

Taylor 'OK' with who she is

"Knowing who you are and being independent and strong will be attractive to the right guy. Try too hard to impress a guy or putting him before your friends and family shows you're not OK with who you are."

The 22-year-old pop beauty admits it is always important to her to have a strong sense of self outside of relationships.

"One of my goals is always to be OK and with who I am aside from love and boys," she added.
