Taylor Swift delves into 'box' for songs

Los Angeles - Taylor Swift delves into a "memory box" to pen songs about her exes.

The country singer is said to have stored a necklace Harry Styles gave her, in a special vintage trunk filled with mementos from her famous ex-boyfriends - including John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal - which she uses for inspiration to write heartfelt songs about her break-ups.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Taylor's been working on a song about her split from Harry since they broke up. Her main source of material for the songs she's written about her string of other famous ex-boyfriends comes from rooting around in a trunk where she hoards keepsakes of their relationships."

Awkward red carpet run-in

"Photos of Harry are now in there, along with a chain he had made for her when they got together last year which matches his own favourite necklace, of a paper plane. Trinkets like that should provide some easy material for her to build a song out of."

Taylor and One Direction singer Harry called their short-lived relationship off, after a holiday in the Caribbean at the New Year and she allegedly set straight to work penning a handful of tracks about the curly-haired charmer.

The 23-year-old star is currently taking time out from song-writing in Paris, where she performed a private concert aboard a romantic cruise on the river Seine on Monday night, after enjoying a day of sightseeing with her 16-year-old pal Hailee Steinfeld.

The starlet was rumoured to be reuniting with her flame Harry at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes over the weekend, but it seems she went out of her way to avoid an awkward red carpet run-in, by delaying her arrival by 25 minutes and not using a backstage dressing room.
