Taylor regrets most of her exes

Los Angeles - Taylor Swift has put all of ex-boyfriends on her "shit list".

The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together hitmaker, who has dated a string of famous men including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner and Harry Styles, says that every one of her former flames is on her list of "biggest regrets" and thinks that love is a "ruthless game".

But despite keeping a "shit list" filled with her exes, the 23-year-old Grammy-winner told the September issue of Marie Claire magazine that they have helped her career.

She explained: "Every one of my regrets has produced a song I'm proud of.

"Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right."

'Helps you move on'

Taylor recently admitted that "heartbreak" is her favourite emotion to draw inspiration from when it comes to her song-writing and it also helps her to move on.

The I Knew You Were Trouble singer previously said: "I think when you're heartbroken you need music more than when you're not."

She added: "There's something so beautiful about people who are heartbroken; they think about how they're feeling much more. I think when you're happy and when you're in love, you don't need to think about it, it's just there.

"Love is one of those things that is so simple, you don't need to think about it when it's good, you only need to think about it when it's bad, so when music is all that you have and you're lonely or you're missing someone and you write a song that says exactly how you feel, there is sort of a gratification you get from that, it almost helps you move on."
