Thief steals Kris Jenner's identity

Los Angeles - Kris Jenner had more than $70 000 (R700 000) stolen from her bank account by cyber-thieves.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and her daughter Kim Kardashian, 32, were targeted by two crooks, who were recently arrested in Florida for stealing the identities of a number of celebrities.

Nineteen year old Luis Flores and his roommate, Kyah Green, 41, allegedly used the social security numbers (SSN) of their high profile victims in order to fraudulently obtain money from American Express.

The duo allegedly obtained the private information when it was made public by hackers earlier this year and called the credit card company and successfully requested to change the SSN associated with each celebrity's account, according to the US Secret Service.

They were then able to transfer more than $70 000 from Kris' bank account to their own, according to reports.

Other Hollywood targets included Beyonce, Ashton Kutcher, Mel Gibson and Paris Hilton, while political figures including Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Michelle Obama were also victims, according to gossip website RadarOnline.com.

The duo were arrested on 7 August at their apartment in Lake Mary, Florida and face several federal charges.
