Facebook posts of ANC's wild night in Cape Town are fake

Cape Town – A viral photo showing the ANC’s "lavish night out" in Cape Town during the party’s 103rd birthday celebrations is not what it appears to be.

The pic, showing bills for large amounts of cash reaching as much as R129 000, has been making the rounds on Facebook.

According to the social media posts, the bills are from a "crazy night out" by members of the ANC on 11 January in the Mother City.

The Facebook post:

But with a little bit of investigation work, Channel24 can confirm that the source of the image is actually an Instagram account that belongs to DJ Fistaz Mixwell.

The original pic:

According to Mixwell’s manager, Diablo, the Instapic has nothing to do with the ANC.

"The photo is from a night out in Sandton at The Sands on Saturday. It wasn’t in Cape Town and there was nobody from the ANC at the party," Diablo told Channel24.

Mixwell’s Instagram account is filled with pics from his bling lifestyle:

@MayfairMafiozo ema hanyane jack!
