Tom Daley to spend Christmas with Oscar-winning boyfriend

Los Angeles - Tom Daley will spend Christmas with his boyfriend and family.

The 19-year-old diver has been dating Dustin Lance Black since spring and - after he opened up about his sexuality earlier this month - the couple are set to take a ''big step'' forward this festive season.

An insider told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: ''This is a big step for Tom.

''He'd promised his family he'd spend Christmas with them and has loads of plans with his pals so now he'll get to have Dustin with him.''

It is reported Tom recently introduced the Oscar-winning screenwriter to his mother Debbie and brothers William and Ben.

The meeting is said to have gone so well that Dustin was then invited to spend Christmas with them too.

Tom - who revealed he is bisexual in a YouTube video - recently described his romance as ''love at first sight''.

He previously said: ''It really was love at first sight, I'd never felt like anything like it before. We were at a party and I hadn't even spoken to him all night. I didn't know what to do or if he was gay at first.

''I made the first move, I typed 'call me' in his notes with a smiley face on this phone and the next day he texted.

''He makes me feel safe and happy, right now I couldn't be happier.

''I'd never felt the feeling of love, it happened so quickly, I was completely overwhelmed by it to the point I can't get him out of my head all the time. I've never had it before where I love someone and they love me just as much.''
