Los Angeles - Tragedy has struck The Ellen DeGeneres Show after an audience member’s husband died while on a trip they won on the show.
Cherilyn McGraw won a trip for her and her husband Brandon to Australia on the talk show last January, TMZ reported.
However tragedy struck when the couple redeemed the trip last week.
According to US Magazine the couple went skydiving together on Saturday while on the trip when Brandon’s “parachute caused him to veer suddenly right and left before crashing to the ground”.
TMZ confirmed that Brandon, a marine who was an experienced skydiver, died on the scene.
Ellen released a statement on Thursday saying; “I've been speaking with Cherilyn. And my staff has been in touch with her as well. She's asked us to help keep this private as she tries to deal with this unimaginable tragedy. I hope everyone respects that."
