Viral star arrested after being interviewed by TV crew at crash scene

Los Angeles - An instant viral superstar was identified and arrested by police after agreeing to be interviewed by a news crew on the scene of a car crash.

Courtney Barnes, who originally asked reporters to call him Ruby Evans, agreed to speak to a local TV news channel after he witnessed a car crash involving a police vehicle.

However, the decision backfired on the man when the image of the distinctive-looking gentleman, who wears green hair and nails, was replayed around the world.

Courtney, who was wanted over a shoplifting case, has subsequently been arrested and charged by police.

What's more, he faces contempt of court charges because he owes more than $1000 in traffic fines.
