Johannesburg - All is not well in the family of late TV star Vuyo Mbuli, after his sister failed to attend a family cleansing ceremony.
In an apparent snub, Nelisiwe Mbuli, who works in the office of the group chief executive of the SABC, did not attend the ritual held at the Mbulis’ multimillion-rand Houghton home last Sunday morning.
During the ceremony, the Mbulis and Vuyo’s widow Savita performed rituals to cleanse her and rid the family of any bad omens his death may have brought them.
The ritual also marks the end of their mourning period.
The Mbulis separated about two years ago.
Shortly before his death, Savita moved back into their marital home.
And after she was widowed, Savita told City Press that she and Vuyo were on the verge of reconciling when he died.
