We had a quickie with Stictly's Donovan Goliath

Johannesburg – Who is staying and who is going on Strictly Come Dancing has become part of everyone’s weekly routine.

This week it was Donovan Goliath who got voted out. The energetic dancer and all round funnyman shared some of his best moments with us.

With a pep in his step and a smile on his dial, happy-go-lucky Donovan was only too happy to share his thoughts.

“Describe yourself in one sentence?”

Donovan

Donovan repeats the question in deep thought. Then answers; “This is bad because now I am thinking of what everyone else has said about me,” he laughs. “I would say that I am funny, witty, sharp, different and a big extrovert and I like weird things and challenging myself and I love attention!”

Donovan adds;  “I also like to make long sentences.”

Channel24

“What was your favourite dance you performed on the show and why?”

Donovan

“I really loved the quickstep but I was looking forward to doing the Charleston”

Donovan unfortunately did not get a chance to do the Charleston but went on about the quickstep that he did get to do.

He says; “We were recognized as the couple with the most energy on the floor so the quickstep was right up my alley. It allowed me to express myself a bit more but was still formal."

Channel24

“What would you say your dancing style is?”

Donavon

“I would say my style is very loose, very inspired by kwaito and pantsula moves. That’s my thing.”

He carries on excitedly that he’s the guy that jumps in the middle of the dance circle and shows off his moves.

“Tell us your favourite ‘knock knock’ joke”

Donovan

Although he couldn’t tell us a ‘knock knock’ joke, Donovan did share his favourite joke of all time, told to him by a 6-year-old that he just couldn’t help but use. It goes like this:

“What bees make milk?”

“Boobies!!” Donovan says while bursting out laughing.

Channel24

“Will you now incorporate dancing in your stand-up routines?”

Donovan

“I actually might! I got to learn about a completely different world! I will definitely be using the things I learned, everything from your posture and moving better to the expressions you use.”

Donovan talks about little things he can do ending off with an inspiring quote; “dancing is telling a story through movement and that is something I can't wait to portray".

Here are the Top 4 things that Donovan took away from Strictly Come Dancing:

1. Discipline.
2. Having the ability to focus on things whole-heartedly.
3. The ability to delve into something you know nothing about, and just out yourself out there.
4. To have confidence in life.

Catch Donovan along with Trevor Gumbi, Chester Missing and Goliath and Goliath at the Lyric Theater in Johannesburg on 29 October
