We talk dancing with Boity and get the scoop on Strictly!

Johannesburg – Strictly Come Dancing has taken South Africa by storm and the contestants are looking better than ever!

Channel24 got to catch up with the bubbling ball of energy, Boity Thulo, to find out what it was like behind-the-scenes of the hit TV show.

Boity is a real ray of sunshine and answered our questions with so much enthusiasm that we couldn't help but smile with happiness.

Channel24:

"What was your favourite part about being on Strictly Come Dancing?"

Boity:

"My favourite part was meeting Ryan. My dancing partner. It was so refreshing to meet such a light-hearted person!" She adds; "He’s a lovely human being and I'm so happy that I got to meet him."

Boity shared a pic of Ryan on Instagram and captioned it; "One of the kindest, most phenomenal beings I've ever met. You are incredible at what you do and your passion is contagious! Wholeheartedly Grateful for your faith in me and inspired by your dedication. #dancelovers #heisagem #Godatwork @rhammond17"

We can't help but think they would make the cutest couple!

According to Boity, she learned a lot during the experience: "It was a huge privilege to get to do something for free that other people do professionally. It was just so awesome to be a part of it. Everyone should take time out of their day to learn how to dance because it is amazing."

Channel24:

"Have you had any previous dancing experience?"

Boity:

Boity laughs: "I have never danced in my entire existence! My friends and family were biting their nails and were all very nervous to see how I would do. Taking the time to learn with someone who is taking the time to teach you, really makes it possible to do. It is just amazing to see what your body can do. I'm kind of impressed by myself."

Channel24:

"Dancing is a good form of exercise, but what else did you do when you weren’t dancing?"

Boity:

"When you join Strictly Come Dancing it becomes your life. It becomes everything you do. There was absolutely no time for gym. But all the work you put in makes for an even better workout. After 6 hours of dancing it’s just ridiculous! You will walk out there having done 17 000 steps after a session. There was just no way to prepare. I put all my faith in my dance partner."

Channel24:

"Where did you find the time in your busy schedule for all the practise that goes into the show?"

Boity:

In a surprised voice Boity says: "I have no idea how I managed to balance everything. I mean there were times when some things clashed. And then I would have to complete other projects as well as make time for Strictly. But somehow it all worked out.

"I’d wake up at 04:30 in the morning and work right up until midnight. I'm shocked at how my body could handle the crazy hours. But it all worked out perfectly."

Channel24:

"If you could name a dance after yourself, which dance would you choose and what would you name it?"

Boity:

"Oh my gosh! What would I name a dance if I could name a dance after me? I really enjoyed doing the Samba. As for a name, the word Samba is too nice to change. So let's keep it original and call it Boity’s Samba."
