Wills, Kate to live in Diana's flat

Los Angeles - Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton are considering moving in to Princess Diana's former apartment at Kensington Palace.

While the young couple - who will marry in London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 - plan to remain at their rented cottage in Wales until William completes his Royal Air Force (RAF) search and rescue training, they are said to be interested in making the palace their London base.

A source told the Daily Mirror: "There has been much speculation about them living in Kensington Palace at some point in the future but this recent viewing suggests their plans are to move in sooner rather than later.

"William has many happy memories of his time growing up there with his mother and would love to move back. He has taken Kate to look around and she liked it very much.

"They will continue to live in Anglesey but will need a base in London. They are beginning to get the finances in place with the help of senior courtiers so they can make the move after they marry."

Kensington Palace - which is also home to a number of other royals including Prince and Princess Michael of Kent - is currently undergoing a £12m refurbishment.
