Wittstock takes off in tears

Monaco – Charlene Wittstock apparently wanted to escape her fairy tale wedding earlier this week because she found out that her prince is unfaithful.

According to a report in The Times, Wittstock has been crying non-stop after an incident at the Monaco Helicopter pad last week.

L’Express reported that Wittstock was devastated when she heard that her future husband, Prince Albert II of Monaco, who already has two illegitimate children, was not as loyal as she thought.

French magazine L’Express posted the news that Wittstock was stopped with a single ticket to South Africa at the Nice airport on their website.

Intermediaries needed

The article said that Wittstock reluctantly agreed to stay in Monaco. According to the French magazine a wealthy Monte Carlo family, the Pastors, acted as intermediaries to persuade Wittstock to stay.

According to The Times, the prince’s lawyer, Thierry Lacoste, had L’Express sign an order to deliver evidence of the allegations. The magazine has denied making its sources known.

However, the legal threats have not squashed the rumours. Wittstock apparently also cried openly on a flight to Paris last week.

South African swimmer Ryk Neethling told SA press that he called Wittstock and "everything is fine" ahead of Saturday's wedding, which will cost an estimated R550m.

Charlene’s father, Michael Wittstock, had his phone turned off and could not be reached for comment.
