Zelda Le Grange recalls Charlize Theron’s visit to Nelson Mandela and the incident with the koeksisters

Cape Town – The release of Zelda Le Grange’s book Good Morning Mr Mandela has sparked a media frenzy.

Former President Nelson Mandela’s personal assistant has revealed a number of shocking behind-the-scenes stories from the South African icon’s final days.

La Grange's book also contains revelations about how Machel was sidelined by the Mandela family, being forced to get accreditation for Mandela's funeral in December 2013.

In another part of the book Zelda recalls Charlize Theron’s visit to Nelson Mandela in 2004 after she won the Oscar for best actress for her role in Monster, Die Burger reported.

According to Le Grange the South African beauty had mentioned that she couldn’t wait to taste koeksisters when she arrived back in her homeland.

Hearing this Madiba requested that koeksisters be ordered for Charlize’s visit.

"Madiba presented Charlize with a koeksister and she took one. She never ate it," Le Grange writes.
