Zolani Mahola opens up about her past and personal loss

Cape Town - Zolani Mahola is one of South Africa's most adored performers, best known as the lead singer of Afro fusion band Freshlyground.

The Sunday Times describes her as one of South Africa's best and most inspiring singers. Glamour declared her and bandmate Kyla-Rose Smith iconic amongst South African woman.

Born in the beautiful Eastern Cape, she started as an actress, is happily married and recently a mom. In an interview with Dominic Wilhelm for the online talk show, First Name Basis, Zolani gets serious about the death of her mother and her struggle to forget a certain event in her past.
