Amber Heard didn't report Johnny Depp's abuse when officers responded to a call of dispute

Los Angeles - Amber Heard never told police Johnny Depp had thrown an iPhone at her face.

The 30-year-old actress has claimed to have been injured by her estranged husband during an explosive row at their Beverly Hills home on 21 May, but when officers attended the property, they determined no crime had been committed.

Sources told TMZ Amber said she had had a simple argument with "my husband" and never even hinted he had been violent, nor did she have any visible injuries.

Officers left a business card advising the actress she could make a complaint at a later date, and notes obtained by the website show there was a "radio call of dispute" and "refused report".

LAPD Officer Drake Madison has previously confirmed officers who attended the scene saw no evidence of assault.

He said: "A crime did not occur so the officers left the scene and left a business card."

Amber filed for divorce last week, three days after Johnny's mother Betty Sue Palmer passed away and she claimed in court that her decision to file for divorce was prompted by Johnny physically attacking her with an iPhone, leaving her with a bruised eye.

In court documents, Amber alleged that, "during the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him."

The actress has been granted a temporary restraining order, which instructs Johnny to remain 100 yards away from his wife at all times, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carl H. Moor rejected her request for the Mortdecai star to attend one year of anger management classes.

He also did not accept her request for the restraining order to extend to keeping the actor away from her Yorkshire terrier.

The pair are not thought to have put a pre-nuptial agreement in place before they wed in February 2015 in Los Angeles, followed by another ceremony in the Bahamas.
