Cape Town – Armie Hammer called out James Woods for making hypocritical comments against relationships with minors when commenting on his latest film.
To bring you up to speed, the actor/producer took a dig at the upcoming Call Me By Your Name, in which Hammer plays a 24-year-old professor who falls in love with his 17-year-old male student.
On Monday Woods tweeted: “As they quietly chip away the last barriers of decency. #NAMBLA”
His hashtag refers the North American Man/Boy Love Association - an organisation that advocates for the decriminalisation of men in consenting relationships with underage boys.
After seeing the tweet Hammer responded, referring to Woods’ previous relationships with women significantly young than him.
He wrote: “Didn't you date a 19 year old when you were 60.......?”
In response to Hammer’s tweet, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants actress Amber Tamblyn then claimed Woods tried to pick her and a friend up when she was 16.
Woods avoided directly replying to Hammer’s comments and Tamblyn’s allegations but replied to a fan asking him about it.
When questioned about his comments in relation to his own actions, Woods replied: “The first is illegal. The second is a lie”
The Hercules actor later told all his trolls to go to bed.
