Cape Town - The star of films like Something about Mary and Zoolander, Ben Stiller, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The actor revealed the news to radio personality Howard Stern on his show Howard 101.
The 50-year-old actor has admitted he was taken aback when doctors detected the life-threatening disease because it came "out of the blue", and Ben has revealed he "stopped everything" and felt he couldn't agree to star in any movies because he didn't know what would happen in the future.
Stiller added that following the diagnosis he had a surgery to remove his prostate and that - as a result- he is now cancer free.
"At first, I didn't know what was going to happen. I was scared. It just stopped everything in your life because you can't plan for a movie because you don't know what's going to happen."
However, the Zoolander actor has now decided to speak about his battle because he wants to bring awareness to the prostate-specificen antigen test (PSA), which he believes "saved" him.
