Charlie Sheen splits from publicist ahead of big announcement

Los Angeles - Charlie Sheen has parted ways with his long-time publicist.

The former Anger Management star is no longer working with his friend of 35 years, Jeff Ballard, following a "disagreement over a situation".

Jeff told People magazine on Monday: "We had a disagreement how to handle a situation and we parted ways. We have had a 35-year friendship and I love him. I wish him nothing but the best."

Jeff's comments ahead of a "revealing personal announcement" Charlie is set to make on Tuesday during an interview with Today host Matt Lauer.

The tell-all chat comes amid widespread speculation the 50-year-old actor - who has a daughter, Cassandra, 30, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and twins Bob and Max, six, with former spouse Brooke Mueller - is HIV positive.

Charlie's friends share love and support:

Meanwhile, Charlie's business partner Bob Maron has hailed the Young Guns star as a "living legend".

He told TMZ: "Charlie Sheen is a living legend. His legacy is that he's one of the greatest actors of his generation, and has entertained us for more than 30 years.

"Those who know him personally would undoubtedly agree that he's one of the funniest, most generous and bravest guys I have known. I am incredibly proud to call him both a friend and a business partner."

Another celeb who showed her support for Charlie is longtime friend Heather Locklear.

Taking to her Instagram shortly after news broke that Charlie would be making his personal announcement, Heather shared a snap of her and Charlie with the caption: "My heart hurts. Prayers for Charlie and his family."
