Cape Town - For many women pregnancy is a beautiful thing. For others, not so much.

Former UK X Factor judge and pop star Cheryl Tweedy has said she hated the experience.

“A lot of stuff went on and I just didn’t enjoy it,” she told the UK’s The Sun.

But since giving birth to son Bear – whose dad is singer Liam Payne (24) – she says she’s having the best time.

“It’s been the best six months,” the Parachute singer added. “Being a parent changes your life completely but in the most amazing way.”

The 34-year-old’s revelation comes after months of staying out of the spotlight, MailOnline reports. But that’s all set to change, she says, as she’s back in the studio working on new music. But the time away from work has done her good, she says.

“I didn't stop for 14 years – literally on the roller coaster. And then when I got pregnant I thought, ‘Right, I just don’t need this stress.’ So I relaxed.

“It's been actually over a year now but it's been perfect for me because it's reset the mind-frame. And I feel actually better coming back. I feel more relaxed. I just feel I've sat into my own skin. I feel so good.”

As for partner Liam, who’s just dropped his second single, Bedroom Floor, Cheryl has called him the most amazing daddy and wonderful man, according to The Mirror.

Aw! So can we expect a sibling for baby Bear in the near future? “I have no plans for two at the moment but I think maybe one day . . . And I grew up with siblings.”

Meanwhile she’s assured her fans she’s back in the studio and plans to bring out new music, but all in good time.

“You know, a lot of mothers have to rush back to work and I don’t think it’s really fair so I’m gonna take time, a few more months, until he’s a bit more grown,” she says, adding that her fans have been very patient.
