Did Venus Williams accidentally reveal the sex of Serena’s baby?

Cape Town – Venus Williams may have accidentally revealed the sex of her sister, Serena’s unborn child.

In a recent interview with a Eurosport reporter the tennis pro spoke of how excited the family are for the baby. When asked what the baby will call her, Venus said: “She’s gonna call me ‘favorite aunt.’”

The 36-year-old added: “We’re all like, ‘Baby V, baby Lyn, baby Isha.’ We all want the baby to be named after us.”

If Venus is referring to the baby as “she” and the family is suggesting girl names then it must mean that Serena is having a baby girl, right?

Venus’ slip comes after Serena accidentally revealed that she was pregnant. The 35-year-old shared a photo of herself with the words “20 weeks” on it in April.

Never-the-less, Serena’s due date adds up to be around August. Whether she and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian welcome a girl or a boy, we can’t wait to meet the bundle of joy!

UPDATE:

Serena has since released a statement regarding her sister's comments, hinting that she doesn't even know the sex of the baby.

Sharing a note on Instargam Serena said: "To clarify what Venus said, I am always joking with my sisters to see what favours I can get them to do for me next. If I want something from one of my sisters I say baby Venus, baby Lyn, or baby Isha needs it."

Serena added that growing up with only sisters has caused her as well as her family to use "she" more than "he."
