Jennifer Aniston: I have worked too hard to be whittled down to a sad, childless human

Los Angeles - Jennifer Aniston is the cover star of Marie Claire's December issue and is using it to set the record straight.

The Office Christmas Party actress opens up about everything from her stand against tabloid culture, her hunky hubby and controlling her career.

On her Huffington Post op-ed

The 47-year-old actress explained her reasons for writing an op-ed in July, saying her marital status, divorce status and lack of a mate have all been "shamed." And questioned, "Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart?

"I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human."

On marrying Justin Theroux

Jennifer is now married to actor Justin Theroux.

She became the topic of internet memes in September following the news of ex-husband Brad Pitt's pending divorce from Angelina Jolie but that hasn't stopped her from being happy and in love.

"Why is he the right person for me? All I know is that I feel completely seen, and adored, in no matter what state. There's no part of me that I don't feel comfortable showing, exposing."

On picking acting roles and what's next

While she stole everyone's hearts as Rachel Green in Friends, Jennifer's taste has changes and what used to make her tick doesn't necessarily anymore.

"This is a time when I'm not completely sure what I'm doing.

"I'm at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core. What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick any- more."

That's why Jen has to be completely and utterly passionate about picking acting roles, "you have to be so madly in love with it and think, 'I will be so upset if I don't go and play this person.'"
