John Krasinski's buff body helps him have better sex

Los Angeles - John Krasinski thinks getting in shape has improved his sex life.

The 36-year-old actor - who has daughters Hazel, two, and eight-week-old Violet, with wife Emily Blunt - trained for four months to play a Navy SEAL in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and he admits his newly-toned body has made him much more confident in the bedroom.

He told America's ELLE magazine: "Totally selfishly, sex is so much better for me being jacked because you feel so much more confident and you see yourself as this much more sexual person, which is really fun."

While John admits Emily would still love him "anyway", whatever his shape, the 33-year-old beauty is also impressed by his new physique.

He said: "The truth is, she really is that person who would like me anyway. But I don't think she's going to kick the eight-pack abs out of bed."

John and Emily married six years ago at friend George Clooney's Italian estate and the actor admitted he initially turned down his pal's offer to host their nuptials three times until he realised he was upsetting the Monuments Men star by refusing.

He said: "I grew up with the Boston vibe and the Catholic vibe. I don't want to put anybody out. George said, 'I have this place and you should feel free to use it.' Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, there's no way he is serious. But I started to see his feelings get hurt. I actually hurt George Clooney's feelings."
