Julianne Hough ties the knot in elegant ceremony

Cape Town – Dancing with the Stars pro-turned-judge, Julianne Hough has married Canadian hockey player Brooks Laich.

The couple tied the knot in an elegant outdoor ceremony near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Saturday.

According to People magazine, who covered the special day exclusively, Julianne and Brooks said “I do” in front of more than 200 guests that included close friends and family.

Celeb guests included Julianne’s brother Derek Hough, actress Nina Dobrev and DWTS pro Mark Ballas.

Put together by event planner Troy Williams of Simply Troy Lifestyle + Events, the intimate ceremony was just the cherry on the cake for the couple’s wedding weekend that kicked off with a welcome dinner for guests on Thursday night. Friday was a beach day spent on the lake at Coeur d’Alene Resort.

The Safe Haven actress wore a custom Marchesa gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery while Brooks wore a Brooks Brothers tux.

Commenting on their outdoor location for the ceremony, Brooks told People: “It was really important to me that we had our ceremony outdoors. Julianne and I are very adventurous and free and wanted the setting to be in nature.”

On their menu for their reception the wedding party dined on smoked Columbia River steelhead with Washington apple slaw as well as chilli aioli and ginger glaze charcoal braised shortribs. And for dessert a strawberry-rhubarb crisp with whipped sour cream for dessert all prepared by Le Catering.

The newlyweds got engaged in August 2015 after 18 months of dating.
