Kim Kardashian West gets up close and personal with Allure

Cape Town – Just when you think you’ve come as close to Kim Kardashian West as it gets, the media mogul throws a curve ball.

In an all new and extremely personal interview with Kim K, Allure magazine uncovers the 36-year-old’s new take on life almost a year after being robbed in Paris.

The mom-of-two chats about her new take on celebrating special occasions, raising her two kids (and possible a third) as well as society’s ideals from women.

Talking about her October trip to Paris that ultimately turned into a nightmare and changed her life forever, Kim reveals she was initially anxious about going in the first place.

And because kids tend to sense even the slightest abnormalities in their parents’ behaviour, her daughter North tried to lighten her moms anxiety at the time.

Kim explains: “She gave me a little plastic treasure box, and she put her little jewels in it — like fake little plastic jewels — and she was like, ‘Mommy, this will keep you safe when you go to Paris.’”

And to this day, Kim treasures the gift as if it were her most prized possession and takes it everywhere with her. “To have something really sweet like that is more important to me than all the jewellery.”

Since then Kim’s stance on materialistic things have changed as she reveals they don’t spoil their kids with gifts.

“We don’t do gifts. Kanye and I talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and trying to be as grounded and well rounded as possible.”

Using her anniversary as an example, Kim adds that she doesn’t “like presents anymore.”

“We just did absolutely nothing [for our anniversary]. We spent two days in Santa Barbara, and we slept. You know what? I think we went to IHOP. That’s what we did.”

In a video interview with Allure, Kim gets a foot massage while talking about her hopes for gender equality.

“I don’t really live by society’s ideals, so what I would hope is just that women are equal. Whether its equal pay, equal rights, I just feel like women should have the same rights as men.”

Kim adds that she thinks women should also have the “rights of what they want to do with their bodies” saying that its really frustrating when certain rights are being taken away.
