Kim Kardashian West is giving back by donating 1 000 pairs of shoes

Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian West has decided to give away 1 000 pairs of shoes in aid of charity.

The 35-year-old reality TV star - who gave birth to her second child, a son named Saint West, over the weekend - has taken to Twitter to reveal she's making the generous donation to Soles 4 Souls, which fights poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.

Referring to her husband Kanye West's design exploits, Kim wrote:

I'm up breastfeeding & watching this show Dish Nation. I heard the cutest story of a girl who is trying to find 1000 pairs of shoes -cont-

to donate to this charity Soles For Souls! They helped her during Hurricane Katrina. I think I know the designer of Shoe of the Year Award!

What's more, Kim - who also has a two-year-old daughter called North - pleaded for help to locate the girl she had heard about.

She tweeted:

I've been looking online to find this little girl so we can let her know the shoes are on their way....but can't seem to find her
