Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus are definitely engaged and his family can't wait for the wedding!

Los Angeles - Liam Hemsworth's family was initially "hesitant" about him marrying Miley Cyrus.

The Australian actor popped the question to singer Miley in june 2012, but the pair split in September 2013.

They have recently rekindled their relationship and the engagement is back on, according to sources, who said the 23-year-old's recent trip to stay with Liam Down Under over Christmas helped change his relatives' opinions of her.

The insider said: "Miley wants to get married. His family was very hesitant about a marriage in the past, but they really got to know Miley better when she spent time in Australia a few weeks ago. Everyone seems excited that they are back together."

The Hemsworths' change in opinion could be down to the fact that Miley has been "making changes for their relationship to work", and is "much more mature" than when she was first set to wed the 26-year-old actor.

Miley has once again been seen wearing the Neil Lane diamond ring Liam gave her when they first got engaged.

Neither Miley nor Liam have commented on the fact they are back together, with both said to be determined to keep their romance more private this time around.

The source added: ''They just wanted to keep their relationship out of the spotlight while they figured things out. Liam never liked how exposed his life was with Miley.''
