LOOK! Sam Smith is being bombarded with Ewok toys!

Los Angeles - Sam Smith is being bombarded with toy Ewoks as gifts from his fans.

The Writing's On The Wall singer bought himself a life-size replica of the Star Wars character Wicket - which resembles a teddy bear - during a trip to a toy shop in Japan and posted a picture of his purchase on to his Instagram account for his followers to see, along with the caption: "Definitely just purchased a life size Ewok."

Since revealing his love for the alien race - which made their first appearance in 1983 film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - Sam's loyal Far East fans have presented him with more Ewok cuddly toys and he thinks the gifting trend is "going to become a thing".

Posting a photo of himself with a furry Ewok given to him by an admirer on Instagram, he wrote: "Another Ewok from my fans oh no - is this gonna become a thing? Haha (sic)"

The 23-year-old British pop star has a habit of indulging his love of movies while overseas.

Back in April, Sam fulfilled a long held ambition to go to Hobbiton - the home of the hobbits - when he visited the sets from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films while he was in New Zealand.

He described his set visit as the "best day" of his life and admitted he would "chop off" a "toe" to live in Hobbiton permanently.
