Madonna accused of using a fake police car to jump traffic

Los Angeles - Madonna has been accused of using a fake police car to queue-jump through traffic in London on Thursday night.

The 57-year-old singer allegedly hopped in a black Jaguar following her two gigs at the O2 Arena when the vehicle sped off with blue and red lights flashing from its dashboard.

An eye witness told The Sun newspaper: "I was waiting outside the O2 and all the roads were blocked.

"Nobody was moving, then all of a sudden there's this huge commotion and I saw flashing lights.

"Then I saw a car and we figured it was an undercover cop. It was beeping so all the traffic let it through. Some drivers were really annoyed.

"Then I looked into the car and saw Madonna. She's being driven out with a flashing light sat on the dashboard."

A source for the Metropolitan Police told the publication that the vehicle Madonna was travelling in is not believed to belong to them as their lights are built into their bonnet grille.

It is a motoring offence to install flashing lights on vehicles and drivers who use them on the road can face six months in prison for trying to impersonate a police officer.

However, a spokesperson from Scotland Yard added: "It is worth noting that, should an offence be committed, the offender would be the driver, not a passenger."
