Cape Town – Mel Gibson has become a father for the ninth time.
The 61-year-old's rep confirmed to E! News on Monday night that the actor/director has welcomed his first child with his 26-year-old girlfriend, Rosalind Ross.
The couple welcomed their new born son, named Lars Gerard Gibson, on Sunday, 22 January. He weighed a total of 2.3kg.
A source shared with People, “Their family is all around them and Mel is over the moon. They're home and everybody is healthy and happy!”
News broke that Gibson and Ross were expecting their first child in September 2016. The couple started dating two months prior in July.
Gibson already has seven children with ex-wife Robyn Moore Gibson and a daughter with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Ross is Gibson’s first relationship since he ended things with Grigorieva – who he has seven-year-old Lucia with – back in 2010.
