Cape Town - One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson was arrested at LAX on Friday night after an altercation with a photographer.
According to a report by TMZ the paparazzi photographer tried to snap photos of Louis and his girlfriend at baggage claim when the fight broke out.
The photographer allegedly fell to the floor and hit his head.
Tomlinson was arrested and booked at a nearby LAPD jail.
The 25-year-old’s representative gave the following statement to TMZ: “"The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis. It's not the first time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity.
“While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defense."
The singer has been going through a tough time recently in his personal life after his mother died of leukemia at age 43. Louis' mom, Johannah Deakin, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of the cancer early in 2016.
He is also embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Briana Jungwirth over their son, Freddie Reign.
