Los Angeles - Madonna has met the First Lady of Kenya.
The 57-year-old singer songwriter - who is currently visiting Kenya with Shining Hope for Communities, a charitable organisation which links free schools for girls to services for communities such as clean water and free health care, has met with Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta - the wife of the country's president, Uhuru Kenyatta - to talk about "eliminating" mortality among mothers and babies.
The Ray of Light singer shared a picture of her alongside Margaret on her Instagram account, which she captioned: "Meeting with Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta, the first lady of Kenya! Learning about her Beyond Zero Campaign which targets eliminating maternal and child mortality in Kenya and hoping to join forces to promote Female Empowerment! Around the World! happy 4th! (sic)."

The mother of four - who has children Lourdes, 19, and Rocco, 15, as well as her two adopted children Mercy and David, both 10 - also shared a photo with the founder of Shining Hope for Communities in a playground.
She captioned the picture: "Walking with Kennedy the founder of @shofco on the playground built with love in Kibera by our #gang. (sic)"
