PICS: Rihanna showed up to her street naming looking like a goddess

Cape Town – Rihanna’s reign on December continued when she showed up to the opening of Rihanna drive looking like a goddess.

The Barbados native was honoured by her hometown over the weekend during a ceremony in which the street she grew up on was renamed after her.

What was originally known as Westbury New Road is now Rihanna Drive.

RiRi attended the ceremony looking like a ray of sunshine in a stunning canary yellow shirt-style mini-dress from Hellessy.

On the welcoming plaque, Rihanna shared personal words of what the honour meant to her.

She wrote: “Welcome to Rihanna Drive... My home. My whole life was shaped on this very road. I was just a little girl riding bikes, running around barefoot, and flying kites in the cemetery, but I had BIG dreams. Dreams that were born and realised right here. Thank you to my family, my country and the people of Westbury New Road! You will forever be a part of who I am, and for that I am honoured to have this place named after me.”
