Cape Town – A dear friend of the late Carrie Fisher shared a story about how the actress came up for her after finding out she was sexually harassed and it is unbelievable.
Heather Ross called 94.9 Mix FM in Tucson, Arizona to join the conversation about sexual harassment in Hollywood, sharing her own account of an alleged assault by an unnamed Oscar-winning producer that took place in 2000.
Listen to Heather's story here:
After the ordeal, Heather says she told her family and friends, including Carrie Fisher, about what happened.
This was Fisher’s response:
“About two weeks later, she sent me a message online and said, ‘I just saw *blank* at Sony studios, I knew he would probably be there, so I went to his office and personally delivered a Tiffany box wrapped with a white bow.’”
Naturally Ross asked her friend what was inside the box, to which Fisher replied: “It was a cow tongue from Jerry’s Famous Deli in Westwood with a note that said, ‘If you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box!’”
Ross ends her story by noting that, that’s just how Carrie was, “she stood up for people... she spoke out and she put things out there in your face.”
Heather’s story comes amidst the sexual assault scandal involving Harvey Weinstein.
Since the allegations against the movie mogul were first made, numerous celebrities have come out sharing their own stories of sexual harassment.
On Monday, Alyssa Milano started an anti-harassment movement that has since gone viral. Using #MeToo people all over the world are sharing their experiences in the hopes of breaking the culture of silence around such abuse.
