This is what Beyoncé's father has to say about those abuse allegations on Lemonade

Los Angeles - Beyoncé's father has denied he has hit her.

The 34-year-old singer set tongues wagging when she hinted on her new album Lemonade that her dad Mathew Knowles had struck her with his hand when she was younger, but he's adamant the lyrics aren't reference to him.

He explained: "I can say I have never in my life hit my daughter. So she has never been a slave to the back of my hand because I didn't believe in that."

The 64-year-old talent manager - who looked after the brunette beauty's career from when she was in Destiny's Child up until they split professionally in 2011 - also remained tight-lipped on speculation her new hour-long visual album is based on her rumoured relationship problems with Jay Z.

Speaking on Mark Thompson's Sirius XM show Make It Plain on Monday, he said: "There's no way we can get into the mind of Beyoncé. Only Beyoncé can answer specifically who she was talking to. ... I would rather not get into speculation. My answer is I don't know."

Listen to the interview here:

Beyoncé appeared to hint her spouse, whom she married in 2009 and with whom she has four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, had cheated on her with a woman called "Becky with good hair".

And, although fans were quick to speculate about her identity, it's believed the track Sorry could be about numerous women he's allegedly had sexual encounters with.

The HBO hour-long special was split into themes - starting with with Intuition, Denial, Anger, Apathy, Emptiness - but ended on Forgiveness, Hope and Redemption, suggesting the pair had worked through their marital problems.
