Cape Town - Bruno Mars has landed himself in a spot of trouble after sharing a photo of himself as a pint-sized Elvis Presley impersonator on his social media accounts.

The Uptown Funk singer (32) – who posted the adorable black-and-white shot back in June as part of the Way Back Wednesday craze – is now being sued by photographer Catherine McGann who took the 1989 image, TMZ reports.

She says she still owns the copyright to it and the Uptown Funk hitmaker did not ask her permission to use it.

In legal documents she states the photo garnered over 1,2 million likes on Instagram alone – for which she is seeking royalties.

So, she’s suing Bruno – who became the world’s youngest Elvis Presley impersonator at the tender age of four – and his record label, Warner Music, for damages and all profits they earned from her photo.

Bruno previously revealed to Parade: "As a kid, I didn’t know what he [Elvis Presley] was singing about, it was just the fact that he got the girls screaming.

"That’s what I was freaking out about, like, "Man, all I gotta do is shake my leg? I want to do that one day.'"

According to Daily Mail, Bruno used to perform alongside his family in his father’s 17-strong stage shows.
