Cape Town - After all singer and actor Tyrese Gibson has been through this year, his trip to SA is definitely deserved.

The 38-year-old arrived in Johannesburg on Tuesday and said on Instagram: “I can’t believe I’m here”

This comes after a pretty difficult month for the Fast & Furious actor, which saw him claiming his friends, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, had given him money, when they actually hadn’t.

Tyrese claimed they’d given him gave him R70 million to fix his financial problems. According to TMZ, the showbiz power pair didn’t do any financial transactions with Tyrese but they’re rather worried he might be having a mental breakdown instead.

The rapper-turned-actor sparked concerns for his mental health when he posted a video of him crying and in fits of rage over his custody battle with ex-wife, Norma Gibson. He told TMZ: “I’m not angry but depressed and broke.”

To add to the drama, according to Lad Bible, Tyrese took to Facebook last week and posted a video that looked like a kidnap of actor and comedian Michael Blackson, who earlier this month publicly came for the actor and joked about Tyrese’s feud with Dwayne Johnson.

In the “kidnap” vid, Tyrese rants: “N****s always trying to be funny. N****s don't know how to shut the f*** up. See the problem is sh** is funny until it isn’t funny no more.”

After all the public meltdowns and breakdowns, the father of one got joint custody of his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla, after a long, drawn-out court battle with Norma, who also claimed Tyrese was abusive towards their daughter.

The Fate of the Furious actor took to Instagram – again – to share his joy and celebrate with his wife, Samantha Lee. In the post, Tyrese mentions how he learnt his recent setbacks were only setups.

To end off this not-so-good month, Tyrese is in Mzansi with Samantha. Welcome, guys, and we hope you enjoy your trip!
