Cape Town – Angelina Jolie and her kids love the local cuisine in Cambodia, which includes scorpions and tarantulas!
In a BBC exclusive the filmmaker shows viewers how to first remove a tarantula’s fangs and then cook it up in a pan.
Chatting to BBC’s Yalda Hakim, Angie explained how bugs and insects kept people alive during the war.
She said: “I think there is a truth to the survival during the war of course. When people were being starved they were able to survive on things like this and they did.”
Speaking of her experience eating bugs, Angie noted that this isn’t the first time she has eaten bugs and that she tasted the local cuisine when she visited the country for the first time.
And as for what to taste first, the 41-year-old says “Crickets, you start with crickets. Crickets and a beer and then you kind of move up to tarantulas.”
